Gateway of India

This iconic arch was built by the British in the early 1900s to commemorate a visit from the King. It was also the site where the last British troops left the country when India received her independence. The Gateway of India is a top destination for visitors to Mumbai.

Juhu Beach and Marine Drive

Two destinations to be near the water could include Juhu Beach and Marine Drive. Juhu Beach is a lively and popular spot to swim in the Arabian Sea. It is one of the better known beaches in the city.

Marine Drive is a promenade that stretches for close to 4 kilometers along the bay. It is a great place to walk or ride a bike and enjoy the breeze. One can get a great view of the Mumbai skyline from Marine Drive.

Elephanta Island

This Lush green island rests in Mumbai’s harbor and can only be accessed by boat. While there are a small number of residents on the island no tourists are able to stay overnight. The island houses the Elephanta Temple Caves which were carved out of rock. Hindus and Buddhists worshipped here dating back to the 5th century.

Shopping and Nightlife

Mumbai is bursting with opportunities for shopping and staying up late to enjoy the nightlife.
